약력 및 연구성과
Kenneth Widmer received his Bachelor’s in microbiology from the University of Texas-El Paso and his Master’s in biology from New Mexico State University. After working as an Oakridge Intern for 2 years at the EPA Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water in Cincinnati, Ohio, he returned to graduate school and in 2007 recieved his doctorate in food science and technology from Texas A&M University. After initially having a post-doctorate position, in 2010 he became a Research Assistant Professor at the International Environmental Research Center, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology in Korea. He has continued his work there on the detection and monitoring of pathogens in the environment, including studying food as a vector for human illness, and has initiated several international collaborative research projects with developing countries in Southeast Asia.
